In contrast, a HIIT workout is usually shorter, lasting for 20-30 minutes, and involves more intense bursts of activity interspersed with brief periods of rest. For example, a LISS workout might last for 45-60 minutes and involve keeping your heart rate at around 50-70% of your maximum heart rate ( 5 ). LISS workouts are typically characterized by being longer in duration and lower in intensity than HIIT workouts. What Counts As A Low-Intensity Steady State Workout? Let’s take a closer look at the pros and cons of LISS and HIIT so that you can decide for yourself which type of cardio is right for you. So, what’s the verdict? Is LISS cardio better for fat loss than HIIT? The answer isn’t entirely clear-cut, as both forms of cardio have their own advantages and disadvantages. HIIT is a more intense form of cardio that involves short bursts of all-out effort followed by brief periods of rest. However, the discovery of high intensity interval training (HIIT) has led many people to question whether LISS cardio is still the best option for fat loss. This type of cardio is often referred to as low intensity steady state (LISS) cardio, and it can indeed be effective for burning calories and helping you lose weight. If you go back and unpause your game, you'll notice that your military dwarves will immediately. In previous versions, dwarves would very often injure one another during training if assigned real weapons, but in the current version they can spar perfectly safely with sharp-edged axes, meaning that training weapons are currently useless. NOTE: do not bother assigning your dwarves training weapons. You can then hit enter to assign that uniform to a single dwarf, or shift-enter to assign it to the whole squad. Now select your squad and hit U for uniforms, then highlight your created uniform. Once your uniform is created, go back to the equipment screen. With 'replace clothing', dwarves will wear ONLY the items they've been specifically ordered to (which can, in fact, be used to make your dwarves run around naked if you want!) Once you've made sure everyone's wearing their real armor, you can change the setting back to 'over clothing' to let them put their cloaks/hats/socks etc. not wearing a mail shirt because they already have a cloth tunic). I highly recommend you use 'replace clothing' for now, because otherwise dwarves have a habit of not wearing armor because they think they already have that equipment slot filled (ie. Note that you can hit r to change the setting from 'over clothing' to 'replace clothing'. Now add items to that uniform type in the same way you were adding equipment to your dwarves previously, and specify materials if desired. You'll see a list of pre-created uniforms you can use, or hit c to create a new uniform, and N to give it a name. If you want you can assign items for each dwarf for every slot this way (weapon, helm, armor etc.) even down to items you wouldn't necessarily consider armor (cloth tunics, cloaks etc.) A much quicker way of doing things is to create a uniform and then assign it to the whole squad. Weapon/armor quality isn't believed to make much difference in the current version anyway. It is not currently possible to assign qualities of equipment, other than using the 'specific item' option and choosing individual items, for every slot, for every dwarf. Once the weapon is assigned, highlight it and hit M to specify a material, so you can make sure your military are using top-of-the-line steel battleaxes instead of woodcutter-grade copper ones. For example, highlight a dwarf and hit W for weapon and scroll down to battleaxe/etc. If you want, you can highlight dwarves one by one and tell them what to use. You'll see your squad and its members listed, with a lot of options for telling them to pick up specific weapons/armors. Hit m to go back to the main military screen, then e for equipment. I'll get on to scheduling in a bit, but first, your dwarves are still unarmed, and we need to correct that. This is good for when you want to order them around in emergencies, not so good for long-term assignments like guarding your entrance. Note that when dwarves are given orders in this manner, they will (or at least should) perform them to the exclusion of everything else, including sleeping/eating/drinking. Now you can hit k to tell them to attack a single target directly, or m to move to a particular point. Hit a to select your newly created squad (or a/b/c etc. From here, you can order them around directly. Go over to the list of dwarves on the right and hit enter over their names to add them to the squad (up to ten).Ĭongratulations, you now have a squad of military dwarves! Back in the main game screen, hit s to bring up the military orders screen. If one of your dwarves was previously appointed militia commander via the Nobles screen, you'll see they've been automatically added as squad leader, otherwise it will be empty. You'll get a list of possible uniforms, but hit 'no uniform' for now because we're going to customize their equipment. Hit m to bring up the military screen, then highlight 'militia commander' and hit c to create a new squad. Stay tuned for dev diaries for the Red Alert 2 scenario here in the future too! I created a ModDB page for the project with dev diaries covering stages of development. I’d also been thinking about a dark and moody scenario set in the C&C Tiberium universe and noticed that a fellow named Wonx2150 had already made a scenario in that universe but just hadn’t really done any proper graphics for it so I decided to take the easier route and remaster his Command & Conquer Africa scenario first to build up more experience before taking on the big Red Alert 2 scenario. After months working on a huge Heroes of Might & Magic 2 Civilization 2 scenario (Which I've posted about here before ) I decided to turn my attention over to one of my other favourite franchises for some more fun Civ2 scenarios, the Command & Conquer and Red Alert universe! However the author moved on to the more functional, complete, and proven open source NGSpice library. Yet, the author was very interested in knowing how the SPICE algorithm functioned, thus the author (initially) developed their own SPICE library (based on SPICE algorithms from textbooks). A number of commercial professional SPICE based applications were utilised during the courses, and there were (free) limited student versions of the software. SPICE circuit simulation formed a big part of the teaching curriculum of the electronics courses lectured by the author. The application operates similar to any other SPICE circuit simulator, and in many cases is not as complete, or fully functional, as other SPICE circuit simulators. Hence the simulation utilises a professional and proven crowd sourced simulation engine. It utilises a compilation of the open source NGSpice library () to perform the simulation. I hope you enjoy this new take on circuit software.SpiceCircuit – is a full graphical circuit entry and simulation application. ICircuit 3D was designed with a strong emphasis on fun and exploration and there are a lot more features along those lines to discover! You can stick them to other parts to make panels and structures, or just leave them laying on the bench haphazardly, like I do. Once connected to each other, wires stay connected no matter where the part is positioned. When a circuit is completed, they start simulating. From there you can drag them around and connect them to each other by drawing wires between their ports. When you add parts, they land on the table due to gravity. * Import images for reference or documentation, and they’ll appear as physical photographsĪll of these are available in the 3D work environment that mimics an electronics workbench. * Import custom 3D models to attach your projects to, and simulate their behavior on the workbench * Import custom circuit elements in Eagle Board or Fritzing element formats (imported circuits won’t simulate, but you can at least wire them up) These are not fully simulated, but are great for layout out your designs. * The full symbolic original iCircuit library * Various batteries, including AA, AAA, 18650, and coin * Waveform Generators to make AC, Square, and Sawtooth signals * Multiple breadboard and wiring elements * Tons of resistors, capacitors, and LEDs You can even import your own 3D models to attach your electronics to, or use Blocks to build an enclosure, or a panel for them! Add photographs and other reference images to the environment to keep them close at hand. In the event of a wiring issue or an over-stressed element, magic smoke will billow from the point of failure, making it easy to locate, diagnose, and fix errors. Tapping a part gives you quick access to simulated values such as voltage and current and also allows you to change the parameters of the part. When powered, LEDs light up realistically, DC motors spin, and speakers make noise! Follow the flow of current along your simulated wires, and see pinout and color code data on the circuit components themselves. Each of these parts is adoringly rendered to look like the real thing so that you can enjoy the beauty of electronics. The Vega and Nova 6 were the prominent models equipped with air-cooled transmissions for Chevrolet. But air intakes are an avenue for debris to get right into the internal workings unless they are adequately cleaned and maintained occasionally. The 2 ends are practically the same, and this wouldn’t have been so if the Turbo 350 transmission had come with central support.įrom 1972, the Turbo 350 transmission received an air baffle and air intakes on the torque converter, which gave room for air cooling. This seems like a disadvantage, but it allowed the automatic transmission to be installed in the Corvair model. The determining characteristic of the Turbo 350 transmission is that it has an almost non-existent central support, especially when compared to the 400. Defining Characteristics of the GM Turbo 350 Transmission The only significant difference is that a variable pitch stator is absent from the torque converter. But in all appearances, it looks like the original 1962 Super Turbine Powerglide manufactured by Chevrolet since they shared several components, which include the torque converter. The torque converter that the Turbo 350 transmission has was eventually carried over to the TH400. The production of the venerable Turbo 350 transmission stopped entirely after 1984. But it was pulled 4 years later due to its inconsistent acceleration and downshifting. In 1980, a lockup torque converter was finally added to the Turbo 350 transmission. The Turbo 350 transmission was heavily produced for about 15 years but was eventually phased out as the 700R4 became the preferred transmission in 1984. But it works exceptionally well in vehicles with V6 and V8 small block engines. This transmission could be found in almost all rear-wheel-drive cars and trucks produced by GM until the 700R4 debuted in 1982. The Turbo 350 transmission is one of the strongest – and shortest – automatics installed into a Jeep due to its power. It has a pretty solid balance of size and power and easily fits in smaller automobiles. This automatic transmission became popular almost immediately due to its compactness, strength, and versatility. It was introduced in the model year – i.e., 1969 – as the successor to the Powerglide automatic transmission from GM.īuick and Chevy jointly developed the Turbo 350 transmission, otherwise known as Chevrolet-Buick Combined Transmission or the CBC 350. The GM Turbo 350 transmission is a 3-speed, automatic shift transmission and one of the greatest automatic transmissions ever built. Over the years, Hollow Knight has garnered numerous awards and secured its place as one of the best games of the current generation. Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition shines bright, which is ironic considering its solemn presentation and challenging gameplay. For example, in the creation of the project that became the film “Powers of Ten,” first came a test known as “Truck Test,” then the production of “Rough Sketch”, which was a model of the idea of the journey in spatial scale. Looking back at the way their office worked, there was a constant sense that the best way to understand a process was to carry it all the way through. The films were meant to have wide appeal and distilled complex ideas into efficient and orderly maxims that fit into the Eames aesthetic of simplicity, integrity and beauty of form. Much like their furniture designs, the Eames films aimed to “get the best to the most for the least…to reach the greatest number of people, ” and prioritized clarity, approachability, and idealism over any romantic notions of tradition or pure innovation within the medium of film. The model was a key tool in their design process which allowed them to walk through an experience and offered a way to visualize the possibilities and the layers of meaning. Ray and Charles Eames used many media to model experience and ideas. But the Eameses were more than just designers of furniture, they were masters of exploration and experimentation into the realm of experience. To most people, the Eames name brings to mind rows and rows of molded plywood chairs and Herman Miller furniture from the 1950’s.
